If, like me, you commute into London, you’ve probably noticed that trains are getting busier - even on Mondays and Fridays. This appears to be driven by two forces: first, organization mandates for workers to be in the office more than 3 days per week and, secondly, fear - with more firms announcing lay-offs perhaps it’s time to spend more time where your boss can see you, especially if they’re going to be in the office 5 days a week. Blackrock this week announced that its Managing Directors, the most senior level in the firm, will no longer be able to work from home at all.
